Background:
I have an MTN contract for my iPad 2GB which costs R399 per month. It is not a top-up package which means that if I use up my 2GB I get charged an out bundle rate
Here are the sequence of events:
- About a year ago my bill starts to sky rocket. Way beyond 400 rand, on average about R1000.
- I receive my invoices for MTN but the invoice is not clear. It does not state why I am being charged this ridiculous amount
- I assume I have been very careless with my data and was using more than the allocated bundle.
- I then monitor my data and realise this is not the reason.
- I call MTN and they tell me I subscribed to receive content from their 3rd party provider, something I never did.
- I requested in November that they send me proof of this. The manager of the call centre said she would provide me with this but to date I haven't received it.

2 reasons I am upset:
- The contract I signed was for MTN to debit the amounts I owe them on my contract not for them to use my account details as a means to take money on other people's behalf. Is this even legal?
- Have not received the content ever!!!
- Have not received proof that I ever signed up for this even after 2 months!!
