RE: Brand new number and spam SMS's already starts

Supporting the claims of a Cell C customer who has previously reported the exact same issue that I would like to report. Please find the initial complaint below:

I recently got a contract with Cell C one month before the end of my MTN contract. After the expiry of my MTN contract, I swapped the number over to my Cell C contract. I had had the MTN number for 12 years through different networks and service providers.

I had never gotten as much spam in any of those years as I have with Cell C. Even before the porting (literally hours after the activation of my first Cell C number) I was receiving various spam and phishing SMS's.
After the port, I received more spam SMS's on my 12 year old number in two weeks than I ever previously had in a full year!

I presume that there is an illegal leak of numbers somewhere in the Cell C structure.
Other than this, I am very pleased with Cell C as a whole.
Please just try plug the leaks with effective internal controls.
