Phone Doesn't function properly

I received a Samsung tab 3 less than a month ago, and the screen just goes black, sometimes I can't scroll through it and the battery doesn't last though I don't use it often. I called the call centre to return the phone, I was told I can't return it, I can only have it fixed which will take not less than 10 days. I then asked if I would at least receive a courtesy phone to use while that one is getting repaired and I was told they don't offer courtesy phones, I then asked if I can atleast then not pay the full monthly subscription as I will be paying for a phone that is not with me, I was told that as contract holders, we are only paying for our sim cards and not the device. IMAGINE! I told the lady I was speaking to that, that doesn't make sense, cos I took the contract cos of the phone not the sim card. Im so fed-up with cell c and I wouldn't advice anyone to take a contract with them because it is their fault that they gave me damaged goods, but they don't even bother atleast providing an alternative phone or for one to return the phone. This is not good at all. Now Im stuck with this phone which is damaged.
