Vodacom - No Sense Of Customer Service!!!

I received a phone call from Vodacom to say that I am due for an upgrade and if would I like to go ahead with it. I then made the lady aware that my contract expired last year and that I moved to Nashau Mobile. She then advised me that I am under Legal Process and that I cannot go ahead with the upgrade. When asking her why I was under legal process she was unable to tell me and asked that I contact the call center. So first of all why did she call me to upgrade??? Then, when calling the customer service number, I was again told that I was under legal process and that I was to be transferred to another division. As you can imagine, this frustrated me even more as I am not aware of any legal proceedings against me. When I finally got through to someone, I was told that there is an outstanding amount of R79 and this is the reason. I would like to know why no one from Vodacom contacted me about this outstanding amount but rather put me straight to Legal Process. Is this the type of treatment Vodacom gives people. Oh, and just to mention... I am still with Vodacom just through a different service provider.!!! This is absolute pathetic customer service!!!
