R1 webhosting hidden costs

I signed up for WebAfrica's R1 VPS web hosting as they say on their website: "Try Web Africa's market leading Virtual Hosting for only R1 for the first full month." Unfortunately for me I signed up on the 30th of November, endured bad service for two weeks and decided to move elsewhere. The shock came when I cancelled WebAfrica. Your first full month (in my case, December) may be free but you still need to give a full calendar month's notice to terminate the service. Thus I am now forced to pay R700 for January 2014 after I had "tried out" their product during December and found it to be unsuitable. Unless one signs up very early in a month and cancels before the full R1 month, one will pay the full month's fee. I signed up on the 30th of November and thus there was no way for me to cancel without paying for another month at full price. This is not how a R1 "try our service" should be structured!
