Telkom
They disconnect you then continue to bill

Telecommunications

I took out a adsl service from Telkom at the beginning of this year, it was the 5gig per month promo. We were told that this is a month to month service and not a contract. I later decided to change to the 4mb uncapped service and was again told that this is a month to month service and NOT a contract, I eventually decided to use another ISP but was blocked because according to Telkom i have a 24 moth contract with them even though i never even signed a single document so i was stuck. The real problems came in when i had a bit of financial difficulties and was unable to pay my account, Telkom disconnected my ADSL line in Otober 2013 but guess what, they continued to bill for a full ADSL service. I was sent a bill for November and i have been sent a bill for December? How is this possible really, I could understand paying for something I chose not to use but this is absolutely disgusting to say the least! I am unable to use my service but Telkom continue to send the R840 bill every month even though they disconnected me? I wonder if they explain this to all new ADSL clients? Then what does month to month mean in that case cause now I am confused but stuck with an escalating bill
