Sony Experia Z: Product Faulty

This phone is advertised as being 1 meter water resistant. Mine was not even directly in water and was merely exposed to moisture through my backpack and stopped working! The guys at Autopage Stellenbosch (Mr Jack Booth) took in my phone and now said that I did not close the flaps and therefore the damage. All flaps were fully closed and it sounds like everyone now just wants to leave me with the bill for a faulty product in the first place. This is a terrible way to conduct business. I'm 3 months into my contract where I payed in extra for what I believed was a great phone and I'm now very disappointed at both the way in which Autopage is trying to pass the buck while taking my money and a product which I believe has falsely been advertised.
