Sony Xperia Z Failure

"The Xperia Z Ultra has a waterproof rating of IPX5/8, meaning it is waterproof at a depth of 1.5 m in fresh water and is jet resistant."

My phone was dropped in less than a meter of water for less than 5 minutes with all flaps securely closed.

However on taking the phone out of the water, it no longer turned back on.

The phone has been with Sony for 21 days, only for them to inform me that they will not fix it as it is not covered under the warranty.

This is a serious case of false advertising, and I am hoping that Sony will step in on seeing this and provide a solution.
