Mtn
So called "free" sim swap

Telecommunications

On Tuesday the 26th of November I get a call from Mtn's call centre advising me that my SIM card is not LTE compatible. This to start with finally made sense seeing as I have been unable to connect to LTE with my iPhone 5 and have phoned and phoned and been in to a dozen stores trying to activate my service and who all told me iPhone 5 is not LTE compatible which is a complete joke seeing as Apple a multi billion dollar corporation says it does.

I went back to the documentation from my upgrade from January and sure enough I was billed for an "LTE" SIM card but had received only a 3G one. This gentlemen on the phone told me that I was entitled to go to any Mtn store and complete a free sim swap. After checking with one of the branches to make sure this was correct, I finally managed to get to Clearwater mall on Wednesday the 4th of December and complete a sim swap. After the sim swap was complete the lady said that will be R136 for your new sim and I told her that I had been advised that it was free, she became very rude telling me there is no such offer and I will pay or they will suspend my service. After calling the head office I am told the same thing. Why tell me it's free?
