I upgraded my phone by calling the Vodacom call centre from a BB to a S4. The call centre agent and I did not discuss the sim card as I expected a new one based on my old one not fitting and the advert saying FREE SIM AND CONNECTION. I realized this the next morning and called back and the agent I spoke to advised me that I can go to a Vodacom shop and do a sim swap and will be credited by Vodacom as the ad says 'free sim and connection'.
I received my phone on the next Tuesday (27/08/2013, did a sim swop and called back to the call centre and an another agent tells me that I have to pay for a sim card R63.00. I find this quite concerning as the ad says "Free Sim" and now I get another story from the agents. I already paid R105.00 for a sim swap as previously advised by the vodacom call centre agents.
I was told to send an email to [Email Removed] (apparently they run the call centre for Vodacom) which I did on Tuesday but have not received a response or even acknowledgement thus far.
I received a call from vodacom saying "we will get back to you" and numerous sms's but still nothing.
It's quite scary that one has to pay and beg for service.
