I am going over from Vodacom to MTN. My contract was approved a week ago. I want to have my Vodacom number ported. The port was approved on Saturday, I received an sms from both MTN and Vodacom confirming that the port has been approved. Then almost an hour later, while I was driving to pick up my phone, I received an sms from MTN saying that the port has been cancelled. No explanation. I phoned the porting number, as I was instructed to do by the sms. They told me it was cancelled by the vetting department. Now, the lady who has been assisting me at Sandown MTN has emailed three different people at the vetting department since Saturday and she has been phoning two supervisors for two days now. Not a single email has been responded to and they do not answer their phones. All I want, is to know why my port was cancelled and how to fix the problem, but I cannot do that if no one responds to customers' queries.
