Cancellation of porting of old number!

I applied for a new contract with Vodacom online and asked for my number to be ported. I received a sms from Vodacom to say that the port was unsuccessful so I immediately told them to cancel the port and issue me with a new number. This is where the problem started. I have phoned Vodacom countless times to ask what that status of my contract is and the same answer ALWAYS comes out "we are waiting for confirmation"... FOR WHAT??? I have told Vodacom to cancel the port but that information never seems to reach the respected department. For the leading network not to finalize an online application within 2 and a half weeks... PATHETIC!
