Misinformed about billing eff cancelation date

On the 19/11/13 I went to Altech Autopage Waterfall Park in Midrand to cancel my Cellphone contract with them (083 611 4204). On that day the consultant, Meshan Govender told me that I am due for an upgrade on the 05/01/14 and asked if I was aware of that. I then informed him I wanted to cancel the contract and do not wish to continue with them. He did his calculations and told me that I will have to pay R 3 930.74 of which I paid without a hassle. Meshan told me he was sending the request together with the proof of payment to cancellations department and it will take about 24 hours for the contract to be cancelled. I asked him after cancelling my contract on that day how long will it take to cancel? I also asked him how will I pay for calls made in that 24 hours? He said I can make arrangements and pay for those calls on ti will be debited in my account. On Thursday the contract was still active. I then called in the evening and was told by Mzwakhe the same thing that he is sending the request to cancelations and it will be actioned in 24hours. Today 7 days later my account is still active and my bank has been debited by R 3511.00 and when I called no one could explain. ref 1972237
