Never cancelled contract

I wanted to end my contract at Altech Autopage. I phoned in advance to find out the specific dates on which the contract will end or be renewed. They said that on the 24th June my contract will expire and if I don't cancel it it will be renewed. The lady there told me to phone cancellations a month in advance to give the notice that I will be cancelling my contract. I phoned them on the 24th of May and said im cancelling my contract with them and the woman said that she did add it to my account. I went to autopage a few days later and I asked to check on my account that the notice is there and that it will be cancelled. Noting of the sort showed on my account and they said that I should phone again. I did phone again and informed them about it and they said that they will update it on their system. I wanted to port my number to another network so she said that I have a two week period from the 24th of June to port my number. I went to Cell C to port the number and I got a msg that said that it was declined. I phoned Autopage and asked what the problem was and they said that my contract has been renewed for another 24 months and that I cant port my number, after i cancelled it twice
