July/Aug 2012 I was having problems with my blackberry 8520. The scroller was stuck and the phone would freeze. Normal bb problems. I decided to take the bb to Vodashop in Paarl Mall. I forget the woman's name who 'helped' me but can recall that although she was friendly, she didn't seem to know much of the protocol or warranty. She kept running to her manager for answers. Nevertheless, i powered through. I learned that my phone was still under warranty so I would not pay to have it repaired unless it was a virus. I then had to mark on a picture of my phone where my handset is scuffed and signed below it as proof. My bb was then sent away to blackberry. I was told that it would take two weeks. If the bb cannot be repaired I would receive a new handset. Armed with this knowledge I left feeling assured that I would get a working phone regardless and not pay a cent. 3 MONTHS later after many battles with the call center i was told to come pick up my phone after I pay R587 as the cover had to be replaced. I paid, reluctantly. Now I've learned that a bb can't be opened without breaking the cover. To me that means I paid R587 for nothing! Worst thing is that the scroller was still stuck
