Vodacom
Unfair Practice?

Telecommunications

I queried from Vodacom why I had to pay an extra R100-00 on my bill because it was unpaid on the due date. The answer I got both verbally and via email was that it's because the "bank charges them R100-00" so they have to pass it on to the defaulting customer. Surely this can't be true?? I called Standard Bank to enquire, and no-one there can confirm this although I was told by one of their customer service advisors that she "didn't think it was correct - as far as she knows, it's the customer who gets charged by the BANK for having 'insufficient funds' "
Could someone from Vodacom please explain this to me?
