Blocked for no reason

I have called MTN on numerous occasions because calls to various numbers on my contact list are not going through i.e. the number rings once on my end then goes to voicemail, yet on recipients end does not even ring, but shows a missed call. The call centre do not understand why and have not been able to help. This has been has been happening on and off for 18 months, but now happens with almost every call. I'm at my wits end as it's costing a fortune to have to call back all the missed calls yet MTN don't seem to either understand the problem or resolve it.
The call centre suggested that the only way to fix it would be to take off the voicemail divert, but since then no messages can be left
Is anyone having the same problem that may be able to assist?
