Afrihost's terrible response

I have been struggling with Afrihost for some time now in terms of providing very slow internet speeds. They have given me a series of what seemed very much like automated responses that never answered my questions. I naturally persisted as they did not deliver the service they promised to deliver.

After some time they eventually sent me a very long-winded email about a number of diagnostics tests I needed to run to check my internet connection. I imagine their idea behind this is to scare people away. Unfortunately I'm not a mug with computers, so I ran their diagnostics and sent the response to them and have heard nothing back.

I have a 4mb uncapped internet line. On every speed test that I run I get less than 1mbps at the moment. On ping tests I get packets that take more than 1000ms... which causes the intermittent internet I've been complaining about the whole time.

So I'm paying R397pm for a product that should cost less than R197pm. It feels like I've been severely ripped off here.
