CELL C BILLING ME FOR A SERVICE I CANCELLED

On the 11th April 2013, I called Cell C to cancel my contract, they advised that I needed to send a mail, which I did. It was read by their customer care centre that afternoon, as I received I message on email. Whilst reconciling my bank statement I noticed that money was being deducted off my account from Cell C. I then went into the bank and asked them to reverse the money. I then decided to do a full reckon and noticed that from May 2013 they were deducting money off my account. I called them last week and they advised that the account is still active - it was never cancelled, they then cancelled it. They put my details forward to their customer care centre and too date I have still not received a call or been advised that my money will be credited to me. I have not used the sim card, in fact I threw it away after I cancelled the contract. Why was this not cancelled? I want my money back!!
