My Blackberry is dead

Telecommunications

Hi! i bought a Vodacom Blackberry 9810 phone at Edgas about a year ago, Now my phone wont switch on, it boots half way and it stops, i went to Edgas where i was advised to take the phone to a Vodacom Repairs, i then took the phone to a Vodacare in Vodaworld, a week later i went to check the phone, i was then told there was nothing wrong with my phone, since i didn't have the battery with me, i had to take my phone home to verify their story, when i switch on my phone it then started working, But the IMEI and the Blackberry Pin had changed, in about a week the phone went dead again, same story, boots half way then stops, i then took it in again, a few days later i got a call from a lady telling me that i need to pay about R3800.00 for the phone to be fixed, i asked her why should i pay while my phone is still under warranty, she then told me the slider is broken and the paint is scraped, so the phone is no more under warranty, which is something a fail to understand, my phone had never been opened before so if the slider is broken who's fault is is, the phone should be under warranty for 2 years, and what does the pain have to do with soft wear or hard wear failure?
