Good day,
On Monday 11/11/2013, I took a device in to the MTN HVRC on Allandale in Midrand.
After an assessment, the device was deemed faulty and I was given the job card and a reference number and told to just go to the store I purchased the device from and they would issue a replacement and all I needed was the number and either ID or drivers license.
When I got to the MTN store in Greenstone, and produced the reference number I was told it was insufficient and I needed an email from the HVRC, which the store sent to request, but the HVRC was already closed for the day. I have mailed today for an update but have not have any feedback as yet.
The staff both in the HVRC and store were helpful and tried to assist me, but, I cannot understand how there can be such a disconnect in the process that what the store and HVRC say is required can be so different. Also, I find it difficult to believe that a company the size of MTN cannot provide me a loan phone for the amount of money I spend every month with the company, I wouldn't mind too much about not being provided a loan phone if the faulty device used a normal SIM but I do not have access to another device that uses a Micro SIM.
