Vodacom
LEADER OR STEALER IN THE SMART DEVICE INDUSTRY?

Telecommunications

I have been a loyal Vodacom client since 1995 with 3 lines at R1500.00 per month. I took up a BlackBerry 9900 handset on contract in June 2012 and it was problematic (slowness/connectivity/battery) from the start. I reported it to Vodacare and Vodashop and they did multiple software upgrades which was ineffective. I dropped the handset which caused a crack in the screen shortly thereafter the handset switched off/shut down. I took the hand set to the service centre and it was sent away for assessment by their engineers. I was not offered a loan hand set and the assessment took more than 3 weeks with absolutely no feedback from themselves. I have called their offices several times and either the call is unanswered or no feedback was received. I have finally received feedback from them in which I was informed that this is a non-warranty chargeable type incident and that the handset is irreparable and the charge details are R3800.00 for labor and R532.00 for V.A.T. which equates to a total of R4332.00. I am left to assume that I have to actually purchase a new handset. You are now expecting me to purchase a new smart phone! I will take my business to your immediate competitors!!!
