At the end of September I applied to have a Telkom line installed in my home, this line was to include an adsl connection. When the technician arrived at my home he informed me that he was there only for the voice line and not the adsl connection. I then proceeded to apply again for the adsl connection, this time going through my ISP, it has now been 14 days since the application was made and Telkom has yet to reply, either to myself or to the ISP of when this will be done. I have spent hours on the phone to Telkom to find out what the status is but I can't take being shouted at any more. The only reply I receive is that the request has been sent to the specialist department, which I fully believe to be code for down the never ending pit of doom and despair that is our national fixed lines operators chosen method of handling customers. I understand that this connection can take a couple of days and all I have been requesting from Telkom is a status update, the "customer service" person informed me that they will let me know when it is done... Well thank you but at that point in time the problem will be resolved, come on I NEED TO KNOW NOW WHEN YOU WILL BE DONE NOT AFTER YOU ARE DON
