I have a MTN 3g and voice contract. I upgraded my 3G contract a little while ago from a 2gb to a 5gb contract.
With my old contract when i reached my 2gb limit i got capped. When i opened up my new contract nobody informed me that the new contract does not have a cap limit. Also because it has a wireless router you cannot see how much data was used. After using the contract for a while we started using the data more and more expecting us to reach a cap limit. Over 2 months we got a combined bil of R6000 just from data.
I also have a credit limit of R4000 and MTN only barred my service once i reached R8000 on my MTN account.
So they did not adhere to their terms. This is day light. What they did to use was dishonest and unfair.
I was also not notified of MTN active which is the only portal to check your data usage which is quite poor.
I have had a contract with MTN for over 10 years now, unless something gets sorted out here i will be cancelling all my contracts with MTN in future and i will be referring all my friends and family to not go with MTN.
