Bad service

I have been receiving messages and calls from my number for a certain Ms E Douglas for the past 6 months and they are quite irritating because some of the service providers think am lying when I tell them I don't know the person and some even harrass me.
I don't know how it happened that I am sharing a number with this person and this is a contract phone which I've opened last year.
I called the customer line and nothing has been done even though they promised to look at it.
This is frustrating because I am now an answering machine for this person that I don't know, Vodacom how can you give 2 people the same number?
