I've lost my data service on my cellphone since Sunday evening. Called Mtn 1555 on Monday morning for assistance, did lots of trouble shooting and was told a fault would be logged as they have had complaints about data services being unavailabe. My query would be resolved within 2-24hrs. Waited for feedaback and decided to call Wednesday morning to follow-up. The consultant says no fault was logged, there is no record of my call and no comments on my number. Now I am told that I need to do a sim swop at a cost of about R140 as Mtn no longer supports my sim. How does this become my responsibilty. If Mtn has upgraded there system or network and Mtn does not support my sim... how am I responsible for the charge. Mtn should have provided clients with free upgrades when they realised that "old" sims would not be compatible with there network.
