Incompetence of Vodacom services and Technicians

Telecommunications

On 14/10/2013 I took my phone to the Vodacom service centre in Menlyn.

Today (27/10/2013), after receiving an SMS that the phone is on its way back after quality check on Thurs, 24/10/2013, I went to pay them a visit. To my dismay (after visiting the shop for the second time today) they merely told me that my phone is still not fixed.

The phone had an RNR (Returned not repaired) sticker on it. The clerk told me that my phone had to be sent back to the tech guys (what the point of that is no one knows). My phone is an iPhone 5. The speakers and headphone jack stopped working for some reason. One of the comments on the report from the tech guys was that there was a chip on the top left corner of the phone. There is a chip yes, but how can that be the reason for the bottom part of the phone to stop working? No water damage or other fall damage exists on the phone.

The centre also gave me a Samsung E1105t (that doesn't work) in the meantime. Apparently Find my iPhone was another reason for no repair. How is that even possible?

I am very unhappy about this. What is a warranty even for? I demand a new phone or a working one so that I can continue doing business. Not impressed.
