Phone damaged after being sent in for repai

Telecommunications

I handed my Blackberry 9900 in to the repair centre since it had stopped vibrating. I had checked the device's water indicator and it reflected white i.e. no water damage. The repair centre took my phone in and at no stage noted any possibility of the phone being returned in a non working order. I received a phone call from the Higher Repairs Centre that the lack of vibration was due to water damage - given that i had never spilled any liquid onto the phone i disagreed with the repair man who promised that he would forward a picture to me - i am still waiting. The phone has since been returned back to me and to my dismay the keypad now no longer works! Upon querying this with the Repair centre, i was told to contact the Higher Repair Centre. Once i contacted them i was then told that they should have explained the T&Cs of handing in a phone for repair - no guarantee that it would be returned to me in working order. How is it ok that a repair centre can return my phone to me in a worse condition? All i have heard is excuse upon excuse. I went from having a phone which merely didnt vibrate to a phone which no longer works! Vodacom - power to you? More like no power to me or you!
