Lying about cancellation

We had 4 contracts with vodacom. We cancelled 2 contracts on 16 August 2013 and made the one bigger on a red contract. We filled in all paperwork and gave all the necessary documents. The following week we received the new phones on the bigger contract, thinking all was well. Now we were informed that they never submitted the cancellations because we didn't give them an I'd. How on earth did they put the upgrade through if we didn't give them the I'd. We have witnesses who will testify if they want to take this further. We cancelled it more than 2 months ago. Please sort this out. We are not willing to pay the other 2 this month. Its their fault. Not ours.
