Modem incompatible with laptop

I took out a vodacom contract last december. With this I goit a Lenova laptop with windows 8. At the start i experienced incompatibilty problems with modem and laptop. That time game did not know what the issue was. After spending my time I found out it was a windows 8 issue. I installed windows 7 on laptop and modem worked. In july this year laptop broke due to factory flaw. Game refunded me with a similar Lenova laptop. Guess what..same winodws 8 issue. I told Game that I know it is a windows 8 issue and that I will not go through all the trouble of finding windows 7 and installing this as they should sell stuff that is compatible. They took it in for about 2 weeks and when I got it back they said that they updated the application software and if it does not work, I should take the modem for a firmware upgrade. Now they telling me that it could take about 21 days to do this. This is putting tremendous inconvenience on me and on my daughter whose laptop it is as she has been falling behind with all her tasks.

How can they sell these products if they do not know its compatible? Come on, a whole year almost and still an unhappy customer!!
