Just had another frustrating incident with silly processes in Call Centres. Who comes up with these idiotic little hoops you have to jump through to get to some service? Business consultants and Industrial Engineers are billing millions per year, and this is the result?
Let me elaborate.
I call the 082111 callcentre. Very helpful person, then the dreaded - let us confirm your details.
ID no. Yes.
Address Yes.
What is your package? Who knows. I have 5 phones. Which one? Who can know what deal you bought two years ago? There are many. WRONG!
What is your account number? What, are you kidding me? I am calling through my car-kit whilst driving. Who the knows their account number???
Sorry sir, you have failed verification. Click. They cut me off.
Try again. Same process. Takes 8 minutes this time, not the 6 just now. Failed verification. Again.
Then call a supervisor. Oh, sir, you have to get five questions right to get service.
Ah, so this is a game show then?
Ask any arbitrary question and if you get it wrong. Click. Get cut off.
But I am on the car kit. My kids listen to it.
And my eleven year old asks me: "Dad, why is the lady so stupid? "
Sorry, my boy, dunno, really...
