Telkom take a week to find the problem

On Friday 4 October we had allocated a Telkom line to our adsl, a simple upgrade to a 4 meg line was done quickly, but the connection was slow. A complaint was lodged with Telkom. supposedly it was in hand and being dealt with.

After I had had enough I took matters into my own hands and I complained directly to Telkom, removing the supplier of our internet provider out of the equation. on the 9th of October I made a complaint, they supposedly sent a technician out, who couldnt find a problem with the line, the report was sent to their fault department to check. They then reported that there is a fault on the line on the 10th of October and sent another technician out. He found that there is damage to the underground cabling and that needs to be repaired. This will take another day or so, which in Telkom terms, another week of "dial up" speed internet instead of the 4 meg line we require.

Now the wait continues...
