Charged for terminated contract

After giving notice in February of my contract which would terminate in March, I asked several different employees what I would have to do to terminate the contract. I was told that they would send an email from the branch but I had to come back in March only. I returned on the 16th and initially had to wait a long time for their system to work but I walked out reassured that my monthly instalments would stop. The last payment was deducted in April, nothing in May and then suddenly in June twice the amount was taken. I reversed this payment at the bank went to the 8ta branch again and was told it was a mistake, on their system it was cancelled and I had to only bring bankstatements to be reimbursed. I did not take the statements because I had already received my money and just wanted confirmation that the contract had ended. I now keep receiving messages from a Nudebt company ordering me to pay the fees since March. I went to the branch again asking why I had been handed over (after calling the 8ta branch to ask what I should do) and they told me that the problem would be sorted out. I have spent a lot of time and money trying to resolve this issue. Please help.
