NEVER ENDING PHONE CONTRACT

I have an expired cellphone contract with 8.ta which expired in February 2013. I called in March to have it terminated but up to now it is still on. I phoned the call centre three weeks back and they gave me the lamest explanation when i told them I will reverse my money from my bank should it not be cancelled this month. I was told i had to wait and get a response whether my cancellation has been approved, what is that?

Do i have to get approval for the termination, for heaven sake the contract is long overdue expired.
