Billed After cancelling my contract

In Dec I went into the Canal Walk branch of Mtn and requested that at the end of my contract with Mtn my number is migrated to prepaid. This was attended to by Vicki Deklerk. I left the store with the impression that on the 24th of January I would no longer have a contract running with Mtn. After Jan 24 I saw that my contract had not been cancelled and I went into the store. I was confronted with staff that were making excuses for the contract not having been cancelled. I eventually cancelled today, but I was informed that I would still have to pay for the month of February. Even though it is January and the airtime i was allocated for Feb was removed when I cancelled my contract. The attendant in the store notified me that I should dial 808 and the retentions dept would be able to assist me with my problem. When phoning 808 they told me I should speak to the people in the store.

I shouldn't be running around because Mtn staff are INCOMPETENT. I also do not see why I should have to pay for anything subsequent to the 24th of Jan as a result of Mtn not processing this request.

I will never use Mtn again and I will encourage as many people to do the same
