Cancellation of an expired contract

My contract expired on the 01st of December 2012, I faxed and e-mailed my cancellation letter in the beginning of November but when I followed up in January I was informed that my letter was never received.

I then requested that they cancel the contract and migrate my number to pre-paid. I was informed that I shoud use all my free minutes by the 25th as I would forfeit any free minutes which I did not use by the 25th, I did that, but now I still able to make outgoing calls and I also received an sms which states "your call limit (action SMS snd softlock) has been removed" on the 26.01.2012 at 06:14.

I am now worried for extra money which I may be charged.

I called call centre today at 12:36 and spoke to Norma who said she is transferring me to someone who can assist and I was holding on for more than 10 minutes now.

what do I need to do?
