New BB on upgrade at end Sept 2012. Been a customer since early 1990's.By mid Nov I notice that the keys are sticky and the screens occasionally goes blank when I dial a number but it still works. Go on holiday from 8 Dec to 14 Jan - miles from civilisation, let alone an outlet. Phone starts cutting out, keypad lights not on, finally non-responsive. Hand it in on 14/01/2013 at Vodacom Repairs Potchefstroom. Handset checked carefully and job receipt states NO DAMAGE. Get feedback after 1 week stating warranty voided because of damage to a - photo shows damage. Vodacom "stands by its position that there was damage to a " thus indicating an attempt to open the phone. I have to ask for help to change the battery and find the volume control - there is no-way I could try a home repair job! They will not repair or replace. Heard nothing more from anyone. So I hand in a defective phone and get a receipt which states there is no external damage only to be told that there is now suddenly external damage and they will not honour their side. Damage could only have happened after it was handed in. I do not know what the next step is and they still have my phone.
