Upgrade pending activation 36 hours later!!!

I upgraded my contract on Saturday 14 September with no problem until I receive an sms stating "if I have any queries to contact the number provided". I contacted them, after waiting for half an hour I then get told to contact the Tyger Valley branch. I called and there was no answer. I contacted the Canal Walk branch to find out why it is taking so long to activate my phone and I am told it takes 24-48 business hours to activate. If I knew that I would be offline for 36 hours then I wouldn't have asked the guy in the store to deactivate my current phone only on the Monday or Tuesday seeing no work gets done over the weekend. I contacted the Tyger Valley Branch on Tuesday 17th. Wow someone actually answered the phone who then transferred my call, then transferred my call again to another person and then another person. After repeating myself 3 times, I am told it will be done straight away and I asked why it hasn't been done up until this point and there was no response except that she is busy processing as we speak. I then finally receive another sms to say my request has been processed. 36 hours later my phone is finally disconnected. Unacceptable!
