Line Not Activated and Porting Not Processed

After taking out a new contract with Vodacom and CLEARLY stating that my number must be ported I finally received my phone on Friday 27 Dec.

I phoned Line Activations at which point I was informed that no port request was logged and that my number (still in the system from an old Vodacom contract) needed to be archived first, before porting and activation.

I went to the Vodashop in Canal Walk on Saturday to verify if everything was being done, where I was told that the porting was not done and that "port requests" are "batched" and will only run Sunday evening. Come Monday my phone had not yet been ported or activated.

I phoned 082 1945 and spoke to Martin who was unable to assist. Later I was called back by Tebogo who was very helpful and told me my porting would be completed between 17:00 and 20:00 on Monday.By 20:00 nothing had happened and on Tuesday morning still nothing.

I have now called the Call Centre at least 6 times and been on the phone for at least 3 hours. I either want my line activated and the activation fee waived for all my trouble or I want my contract cancelled.

This is terrible service. I can only dread to imagine what the next 2 years will be like.
