Yello'? Is anyone at MTN listening?

Telecommunications

I upgraded my contract in march 2012 to a Blackberry 9900 Bold. This handset has been a nuisance for the past 6 months, freezing, spontaneously rebooting itself, always at the most inconvenient time. This phone eventually decided to die its final death 9 months after purchase. And here in begins my utter disappointment with MTN customer services. One would assume that when a product fails, the supplying company would do their best to replace or repair said product timeously. I duly returned the handset for repairs and was assured I would have it back repaired or, if irreparable, replaced with a new handset within 6 to 10 working days. 3 weeks (i.e 15 working days) later, the handset is neither back in my possession, nor is it at the Canal Walk, Cape Town store where I handed it in. Oh no, instead I am told that the phone is in Polokwane! The best that the supervisor can apparently do for me, is an enquiry on Monday morning. In 3 days time. Still, I sit with no phone and I am told "We should have an answer for you by Thursday". That is 6 days from today. So most likely 4 weeks for a routine repair, if I'm lucky. Let's see if I get an answer to this by next Christmas...
