MTN WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER EXPERIENCED

MTN has to be hands down the worst customer service provider that I have ever encountered. This is a classic example of a company that is more focused on flashy advertising and attracting new customers than actually making sure that they put the same amount of effort into keeping their customers happy. They have all these additional benefits- Mahala Thursdays (which were not really mahala) and getting 50% free airtime when you recharge blah blah blah BUT when it comes to actually being a network provider- which is their core business- they fail dismally! I have for a week now tried and tried and FAILED to do a sim swop with this network. They tell you doing a sim swop is as easy as buying a new sim card and calling their customer care line to complete the sim swop. What they don't tell you is that there are about 30 other steps in-between these two steps and if you can't tell the agent when you first started to use your sim card then sorry but he/she cannot help you.

2 days later after being told to hold the line and that my call is important to them- my old sim card has been cancelled and the new one is no longer active on the network.

Vodacom wins this round MTN.
