Im paying for the companies mistakes by force

I had a Contract with Mtn a while back, as far as I know its been gettin paid because as required like any other mobile network i gave all my docs with my details. I then wanted to take another contract with Mtn but it was unsuccessful because i owe them money to my suprise. They never contact me because they had all my details wrong. The person that did my application put in all incorrect details on the system. I then gave them all my correct details when i found out and now the debt collectors are constantley contacting me for payment on something that is not my fault. This is unfair i feel. I have never experienced this with any other provider. If I had known im owing money i would have payed it. This now affecting my credit rating and i now want somebody to listen to what went wrong because everybody i speak to about this matter doesnt seem to care, they just want payment. This company cannot expect me to pay more than double the amount of what was agreed to in the contract cos of their employees mistakes. I'll be handing this matter to the Ombudsman if this matter isnt resolved. ITS NOW AFFECTING MY CREDIT RATING AND MY NAME!!!
