Vodacom
Vodacom discriminates against customers

Telecommunications

We went to Makro to take advantage of their birthday specials. One of the specials is for a Smasung Galaxy SIII on a Vodacom 24 month contract at R249 p/m. Our current contract expired a while back. We were told that this is only for a new 24 month contract which is exactly what we were trying to do as our old contract expired. They said we cannot be a Vodacom customer already to make use of this offer. My first question is why? Are existing Vodacom customers not good enough? Secondly, is this not discrimination? Does the Consumer Protection Act not explicitly state that suppliers may not discriminate against customers? I've called and spoke to both Makro and Vodacom staf, and both of whom said they will call me back but I'm yet to get an answer.
