Offered to upgrade but not assistance from sales

I was offered to upgrade my account via sms, so i went in to the century city store to do so. when i arrived i was given prompt service at first and told that the package that i wanted to up grade to was not in stock, and would be ordered on the Monday and i would be contacted on the Wednesday to confirm the stock is in store. i did not
receive any feed back on Wednesday so i went to the store on Saturday to find out if my package had arrived.
Jade told me that they were unable to get stock due to a national stock take but she will put in a request from another store for me. It has since been an extra week with only one sms from Jade saying she has got her manager involved and she will be in contact, but still waiting. I can not believe the a company that wants to retain a customer should allow this type of thing to go on, i have already signed the documents to save on time as per suggestion from Jade but i am wondering if i have made the right choice with renewing my contract with mtn as it looks like the customer does not mean much.
