BLACKBERRY BIS FAI USAGE POLICY

I have been a customer with Virgin Mobile since 2007 and never had any problems. I have a blackberry and use the BIS facilities on my contract.

The fair usage policy came into effect capping BIS usage at 1GB and there after all BIS services would be ended until the next month, virgin informs me via sms how far my usage is and how much i can use before the 1GB is reached. My contract gives me R150 airtime and a further R600 so if the R150 is used up the rest will be billed additionally. I checked my airtime yesterday and saw a balance of R3.30. When i accessed the internet a further R0.50 came off from my airtime.

i called the call centre and was informed that as from this month of August once your BIS cap has been reached it switches over to your normal airtime. I use the internet a lot and to my surprise all my airtime was gone.

Now i have a bill of over R600.00 and was never informed about the change in policy for me to make provisions for my BIS usage. My account is due on the 25t of August 2013 and who is going to pay this bill of over R600.00??

i am outraged at this fact!!! and deeply disappointed
