Incompetence, Apathy, and now

I am an existing vodacom customer and I wanted to do what should be and is advertised as, the simple procedure of taking out an additional contract online and porting a number over. What a disaster. After going through all the hoops with online consultant, Hector (who is friendly and helpful) on the 4th of Aug and told that all was sorted out I received an sms from Vodacom the next day that my request to port had been approved by my network (Virgin Mobile, where my 2 year contract is now over) all good and well I sadly and mistakenly assume until I follow the procedure I was told too and call to activate the new sim with supposedly my number now ported over only to discover that Vodacom in there wisdom has activated some new random number in my name and not ported me at all. Endless waiting on the phone costing me a lot of time and money has achieved nothing and now to top it all I have been charged for this new contract with an additional stop order for a contract and number I didn't ask for and don't want. I call that on top of incompetence. Hector has assured me a supervisor is sorting it out and they will keep in touch but I am still waiting for any response. Abysmal.
