I went into Cell C with the intention of taking out a new contract. I spoke to one of the sales reps who told me specifically that as a student I could take out a contract as long as I was not in debt, and was told what I'd need. Upon returning for a second time I was asked to bring in three months bank statements. I'd like to emphasize that not once was I told that I would not qualify for a contract as a student since all of my information checked out. The third time I returned I made an appointment to see the sales rep. The rep was over an hour late. Thereafter I was passed off to his colleague who had all my information along with the phone which was being held for me and was merely supposed to give me my device; the last formality in this overdrawn process. He then informed me that I would not be able to take out the contract as I did not have a credit rating as I am a student with no credit history.

I need to emphasize that three times during this process I was assured the fact that I have no credit history would not be a problem. Lying to a customer is not acceptable. They completely wasted my time and are completely incompetent.
