Regretting to have joined MTN this month

After taking out a new contract for the first time with MTN around the 3rd August, I received numerous calls and sms's from cell numbers that I did not know. Some calls were from debt collectors. I followed up further and noted that this related to debts owed by another person who had my cell number loaded on the Edgars system. Nobody had my new MTN number, even to date. I phoned the MTN call centre on 12/08, I was told my number is probably recycled and that I would receive a new number via sms within 24 hours. On the 13/08 I phoned MTN to enquire where my sms with my new number is. I was told the case is still open and that I must phone back on 14/08. I then phoned on 15/08 to enquire my new number and the feedback I got from the MTN call centre agent is that the case is still open. As at present, I am still shocked at the poor service delivered by MTN and now understand why people have told me never to join MTN due to the pathetic customer service. Now I also understand why MTN will never be the leading cellular network in this country. Thank u MTN for living up to your reputation.
