I went to get my new S3 Mini from the Cell C store in Blue Route Mall. I arrived on the 18th of July to collect my phone. Clyde, the consultant I dealt with, opened the box up at around 17:20 and put my new sim in. A short while later I left for home. My husband took one look at it and asked why the screen was cracked. I laughed, thinking he was joking. I turned the phone sideways and saw a long, smooth crack running diagonally across the face of my new phone - undetectable to the touch! I hadn't dropped or dinged it and had barely used it at all! Less than 30mins after leaving the store, I returned and was told that it would be sent in for repairs. With 3 weeks having passed, I went back to the store to find out what was happening. I was told they would not replace the phone as they believe I'm involved in. I was shown a document indicating that 24 seconds before my new sim was inserted, a sim registered in Benoni was detected. The paper showed this happened in-store, when the phone was being setup for me. I was then told that they believe I'm at fault for the perfect crack too. I can't believe that Cell C is trying to avoid responsibility for a clearly defective device.
