Cracked screen tough luck

Visiting cell c with low expectations to open up two contracts cell c informed me that because my credit was good that I could. My boyfriend and I were thrilled and picked out our phones. A few days later we woke up to find his galaxy s3 had a crack across its screen, our friends had reassured us that when they had dropped a new phone that he had taken it back and had it replaces a month later, thinking since we had not even dropped it onve we would have it replaced instantly. I went in the same day and explained what had happened and was told I would have to pay up to R2500 to get it fixed. I honestly would have understood if ww had dropped it in water or dropped it off a high counter but being given the nonchalant attitude of oh well was not even a thought for a brand new phone and new to cell c. Honestly just unfair you could inspect it up close and there is absolutely no damage around the phone. Thanks for selling me a phone with a hairline crack and no initiative to even inspect it for us.
